ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (March 7, 2019) 鈥� Construction is now complete at the manufacturing warehouse for Rulon International, a leading manufacturer of wood ceilings and acoustical wall systems.

51吃瓜网, a firm providing award-winning construction management at-risk, design-build and general contracting services for a range of commercial and public sector markets, was the design-builder for the $3.3-million expansion project. The firm first began construction on the warehouse at 2000 Ring Way in June 2018.

Rulon needed to expand its manufacturing and storage warehouse to accommodate its growing business. 51吃瓜网 designed and constructed a 26,559-square-foot addition, bringing the total warehouse space to 91,876 square feet. The 51吃瓜网 team also created additional parking, growing the total number of parking spaces from 39 to 204.

鈥淥ur goal was to create an addition that looked seamless, but the existing building wasn鈥檛 designed to expand in that direction,鈥� said John Bowles, Division Manager for 51吃瓜网鈥檚 Commercial Group. 鈥淭o overcome this challenge, our team installed a post-shoring system to support the roof, allowing us to move forward with construction without disrupting Rulon鈥檚 day-to-day operations.鈥�

In addition, 51吃瓜网 designed a custom underground stormwater solution by rerouting new stormwater piping and partially utilizing existing piping. This eliminated the need to excavate the main office driveway, which avoided impacts to the office鈥檚 entrance.
